Andheri is a suburb of Mumbai that has acquired a wide fame on
account of various film studios situated there. It is constantly on
the nations consciousness as every other day we can hear
broadcasters making announcements at the end of programme “
Rush your answers to PO Box no --- Andheri East.”
Before 1945, Andheri was administered by a Collector in charge of
the "Suburban District". With the creation of Greater
Bombay in 1945, the administration was merged with the rest of
Bombay city. The neighbouring suburbs and stations that cover
Andheri are Jogeshwari, Vile Parle.
